How long will the credit in 2010 continue to be effective ? Will it be 18 months as usual ? Or is there any extra months like we had in the transition from paper based to PC based ?

The credit in 2010 will continue to be effective for 18 months, as usual. There will not be any additional months because only the format and (some) content of the exams are being altered - but the four exams themselves are staying the same. The same 18 month rolling window will apply - the only change will be in the format of the exam should you sit after 01/01/2011.

If i will register in june 2010 and take date of exam in feb 2011 then my exam vll be taken as per new course and new format or as per old?

@donateuroldpc Any exam that you sit for past 01/01/2011 will be in the new format, even if you register in June 2010. If you would like to take the exam before the changes are implemented, then you should try to schedule it in the fourth window of 2010.

Is this a good plan to take?

2010: REG, BEC(30 mins+ in 2011), FAR(No IFRS)

2011: AUD (30 mins less)

Any suggestion?

So, is it safe to assume that I can take, for example, the BEC part (in old format) this year, and other parts (in new format) next year and still get credit for all parts?

Because in this case I'd be avoiding all the written parts...not that I am afraid of them...just trying to see if it's an option :)

Wai Kin, that is a good plan - but it depends on your comfort level with the subjects at hand. Don't assume that that will be the easiest because AUD will be lessening. As the material is changing around a bit, you want to weigh out your strengths and weaknesses.

Kristina, yes you will still get credit for all parts if you pass them, regardless of the year taken. As long as it is withing the 18 month rolling window. So, yes, potentially it is possible to avoid all of the written parts :)
