Good news: A representative at the AICPA confirmed that the above facts are true.
Better news: If you have not received a phone call or email from CPA Exam Services informing you that your score is now a bright and shiny "Pass," then you are not affected by this scoring error. All those affected have been notified.
Here is a message directly from the AICPA:
"We
had an issue with two simulations. All of the impacted candidates and
their state boards have already been notified. We’ve
addressed the problem and thankfully, will not see it again."

Did they definately talk to each candidate affected? Just wondering in case someone missed the phone call or email.
An AICPA representative confirmed that all affected candidates have been contacted-- first via phone, and then by email if there was no reply. From our research, there were only around 20 total candidates affected by this error.
I received the great call that inform me about the shiny "pass" in REG exam that I did in Feb 2012 .
But my question now is how to claim the refund for the two exams that I had after Feb 2012 in same corse?
Wishing to get the helpfull detailed answer that I couldn't find it from NASBA.
Thanks a lot.
Ali
Any one know how the validity of my score will be considered? I mean if the 18 months validity will be considered from exam date or from passing notification date?

Did you ever get an answer as to the 18 month timing?
Thanks!
