Well, I’m back again. I successfully scheduled my AUD exam for 26 Feb and am halfway thru the
AUD material. I am finishing up AUD 3
this week. I wanted to discuss what my
plan is for the next month of prepping for the AUD exam with this blog.
So honestly, there’s not much difference than what I did for
the FAR exam. I am focusing my efforts
where Roger says to. For instance, in
FAR, Roger noted that if you were under a time crunch and had to skip a section,
then skip Accounting for Partnerships.
Guess what – I had no questions on Partnerships. So I was able to focus those required study
hours on more highly tested topics i.e. Bonds, Leases and Business
Combinations.
I am doing that with AUD.
Now, I have an advantage, though it came at a price. Having gone thru the AUD exam once, I know
where they are hitting hard, and yes those areas match those “must” study areas
Roger emphasizes i.e. Compilations versus Reviews, Independence, Ratios,
etc. I am also tracking my scores by
section and am making risk management plans based on those scores. So if I get above an 85 on the MCQs, then I
move on and accept that I have a good grasp of the information being taught. For the Sims, this gets a little more tricky,
so I just keep doing them over and over and over and over again. Can you tell I’m sick of Sims?
Based on my modified prep schedule, I will be complete with
my run thru of the course with a week and half to spare, allowing me to review
those hard hit areas, the MCQs I still struggle with and yes, enjoy a quiet
down day before the exam.

Phillip - your blog has been a focus point for me, showing me where to study and the need to really emphasize the stims. Good luck!!
