Hi Tea Cake. While the format is changing for the exam, new content will also be introduced. For the exam sections you plan to take in 2011, you are going to want updated study materials. now i have all the 2010 study material, is it still good for 2011 exams?? in terms of the knowledge being tested?? cuz looks like 2011 CPA FORMAT will change.... not the study materials?? will more additional accounting knowledge that is not covered in 2010 be added to 2011 exams??

Wai Kin, that is a good plan - but it depends on your comfort level with the subjects at hand. Don't assume that that will be the easiest because AUD will be lessening. As the material is changing around a bit, you want to weigh out your strengths and weaknesses.

So, is it safe to assume that I can take, for example, the BEC part (in old format) this year, and other parts (in new format) next year and still get credit for all parts?

Because in this case I'd be avoiding all the written parts...not that I am afraid of them...just trying to see if it's an option :)

@donateuroldpc Any exam that you sit for past 01/01/2011 will be in the new format, even if you register in June 2010. If you would like to take the exam before the changes are implemented, then you should try to schedule it in the fourth window of 2010.

The credit in 2010 will continue to be effective for 18 months, as usual. There will not be any additional months because only the format and (some) content of the exams are being altered - but the four exams themselves are staying the same. The same 18 month rolling window will apply - the only change will be in the format of the exam should you sit after 01/01/2011.
